21st century communication technologies have empowered us to be more productive but, paradoxically, have impacted on our personal productivity with their constant interruptions.
The WhiteSpace Project encourages people to set aside time each week when we disconnect from interruptive technologies. By doing this, we hope to see growth in our productivity and in our ability to think and process new ideas.
At The WhiteSpace Project we have committed to being ‘offline’ for 100 days in 2010 – an average of 2 per week, on a weekday.
On this site I will blog my experiences ‘whitespacing’, and hopefully inspire others to try this radical approach to 21st century time management.
Consequently, this is a work in progress. This site will evolve through my experience, but I welcome input from readers on how we can improve both the site and its functionality, and the whitespacing idea.
If you register, you can make your own commitment to whitespacing. Just enter your goal in the “My WhiteSpace Goal” field in your user profile.
The WhiteSpace Project is for a community of like-minded individuals and, through your participation, we will truly see its success.
